You will never to narrow your search and give us a home price range in order to get some sound advice. Dallas and Ft. Worth may be sister cities but there is a pretty good distance between the two. Have you secured a job and if so what part of DFW is it located in.

Yeah, to be 20-30 minutes away you will have to know exactly where you are working. If you drive typical rush hour times that would mean living within 8 miles or so of your job.

I know I sound like a broken record or the welcoming committee for Trophy Club, but check it out. Small, close to everything, wonderful community and excellent schools. best of luck with your move.

Again, it will depend on where you'll be working for any of us here to give you a recommendation to meet your 20-30 minute commute time desired.
So, have you landed a job here yet or are you transferring into the area? If so, which part?

Here are the locations w/in Dallas and surrounding Dallas that have several warehousing/distribution centers and they are in EVERY direction from the center of Dallas.
Up around Sanger north of Denton on 35 there are some.
Heading from Rockwall to Greenville on I-30 from Dallas are many.
The Seagoville area has some and there is one LARGE "port" out that way that all of the ship containers come to from the Houston Ship Channel then get distributed across the nation from there (would not want to live there though).
Mesquite and Garland both have LOTS! Moreso Garland than Mesquite.
Cedar Hill is putting in a new distribution hub.
Several of the freight lines have their truck freight terminals on the west side of Dallas bordering Irving.
Going from Dallas to Ft Worth on 30 there are several.
Denton has several.
In Irving, Farmers Branch along 114 and 635/LBJ there are several because of the proximity to DFW Airport.
You REALLY have to know which area first you want to concentrate in as these areas are SPREAD OUT! I'd recommend putting out some resumes and finding temporary housing for the short term until you know EXACTLY what area of the metroplex you are going to be in.

I kind of like Waxahachie, it's quaint and south of Dallas, but that might be a longer commute than you'd like. Red Oak isn't bad either, a tad north of Waxahachie. I think that would help you get out of the worst of the "big" city.

But it would BITE big time to live there and end up getting a job on the other side of Dallas. YUCK!!! Since the OP wants a commute of no more than 20-30 minutes and in the field they are looking in they need to find the job FIRST and then concentrate on the location to live.
