Want to take up woodworking as a hobby. I have some basic self-taught "learnt from my mistakes and trips to HomeDepot" knowledge.

Where can I obtain formal woodworking lessons in the DFW metroplex?

I am searching for a hands-on workshop and not online training.

Thanks in advance.

I have been a woodworker for several years and I enjoy the hobby. You may want to check the Dallas County Community College district to see if they offer any classes. I'm pretty much self taught but woodworking can be simply are highly detailed depending on what your interest are. I will PM you a link to a very good woodworking forum. Goodluck and be safe.

Try visiting your closest WoodCraft store. They may have something for you.

And I just found this on Google. It's in Southlake.

You can try this store as well:

I was briefly interested in whittling and stopped by this store for carving knives and blocks of wood. They offer woodworking classes on a variety of subjects. In addition, if I remember correctly, a whittling club meets there.
