There are some black neighborhoods in Richardson ISD but they are very low income and not as safe as other parts (i.e., Hamilton Park just east of 75 south of 635). Most of the northern burbs are extremely diverse with black, white, Indian, Chinese, Hispanic, even refugees from Iraq and many African countries all living together in the same neighborhoods.
I must chime in because both I and my husband are African American. We have lived in DFW since 2009 (specifically Plano).

This answer above is spot on. The north metroplex where you are asking about is mixed and heavily Chinese and Indian if you want to talk about minorities.

Cedar Hill and DeSoto is the only place where you can spend that high of a price point and be in a predominately black area.

Agreed.
And even when we moved here in 1989, there was no 'AA subdivision.'

It amazes me that after all these years after desegregation has taken place, some blacks are actively seeking it. OP, I think your grandparents and great grandparents would be ashamed of you.

I don't think there has ever been an "AA subdivision" in my lifetime. (Born in '75 after the Jim Crow era.)

My parents can tell you about segregation tho.

Yes but look at all the heavy Asian, Indian preferred areas people seek. There's not a week goes by another heritage does not ask the question here on CD.

Very true; it's probably one of the most frequently-asked questions here.

Wow and white people would be accused of being racist for asking that on here.

yea and city data allows it by any group other than whites. Interesting how that double standard works.

The forum does not prohibit whites from asking--I've seen that here on multiple occasions.
