Does Dallas have many overcast days?
Does Dallas have a lot of overcast days throughout the year? Of course this is up to interpretation but I'd call an overcast day a day in which the sun never comes out and the sky is totally gray and gloomy the entire day. I'd say in an average week 2 maybe 3 out of 7 overcast days would be acceptable... Does Dallas meet that standard?

The winter seems to have more overcast days. According to the stats, there are on average 232 sunny days a year in Dallas. I'm not sure what qualifies as a sunny day per the statistics.

Days that are completely gray morning to night are not common.

I expected many more gray days, but that has not been the case.

It's clear days and partly cloudy days I think. I've been looking at stats and the number you gave seems to be right on target. I think Dallas has the right balance I'm looking for. Some cloudy, rainy days are good as it makes everything green and nice looking and cleans the air and all. I was pleasantly suprised at how green Dallas is when I went there for the first time last April. I didn't expect it to be completely brown and ugly like Phoenix but I didn't expect it to be really nice and green either.

We don't get too many straight days of completely cloudy days. THANK GOODNESS!! After 2-3 days of it usually the sun comes out cause if there were anymore than that I'd be a nutcase (okay, I know I am sometimes already ). Yes, Dallas is MUCH greener than a lot of people really believe. Even in the heat of the summer it is not all dying and brown as some seem to think.

My husband just got back from Dallas and said it's pretty darn brown right now. He said everyone's lawns are dead. So, I don't think it's very green in the winter, right?

Right, the lawns get brown, it's not dead it goes dormant. Some people overseed with rye (?) grass that stays green. Most of trees loose their leaves. It just is what it is, unless you are visiting from a state like FL that stays green year round and then you really notice how brown Dallas gets in the winter. Where I live, people plant pansies and ornamental cabbages and other winter color in their planters or gardens. I think that looks nice.
