Hello all!

There is a possibility that my wife and I may be looking at a move to the Dallas area for my job. If it happens, I would be working in Hidden Ridge, near DFW.

I was wondering if anyone could make some recommendations on areas to look as far as buying a home. We don't want to be "right in the thick of it" as we prefer a more laid-back, suburban setting, but hoping not to be TOO far and have a terrible commute.

Things that would be of high importance: good schools, plenty to do (golf, other outdoor activities, shopping, restaurants, etc), less urban atmosphere.

We would probably be looking to spend in the ballpark of $175-250K.

Thank you, we appreciate any advice you can provide!

There are several communities close to your work that would fit your criteria, Grapevine, Irving, Carrollton are great suburbs where you can get everything you described except for the golf... All golf communites start around 300K and not necessary with a house on the golf course, just to be in the community such as Hackberry Creek, Castle Hills...

Thanks for the info, Naima. Guess I wasn't too clear on that, didn't mean we need to live IN a golf community or on a course, just close by to a few good public courses!

Thanks again, off to research the areas you mentioned!!
