Here's the skinny on a New York pizza concept opening in Addison
by Teresa Gubbins
September 27 2016

Quote:
A pizza chain that claims to have a healthier spin is headed for Dallas-Fort Worth. Skinny Pizza promises to bring a gourmet, healthy, authentic New York pizza experience in a fast-casual format. It'll open its first Dallas-area branch in Addison Circle, in a spot with pizza DNA: the former location of Pastazio, which closed in early 2016.

Founder Joseph Vetrano, who has lifelong experience with Napoli- and New York-style pizza, created a menu with a no-additive crust, organic tomatoes, and hormone-free, nitrate-free toppings. Pastas are GMO-free, salads and greens are organic, and the sodas have no high-fructose corn syrup.

According to a spokesperson, the restaurant will open at Post Addison Circle, with a targeted opening "in the next month or two."

V-Eats Modern Vegan Will Soon Debut At Trinity Groves
September 30 2016
by Amy McCarthy

Quote:
The restaurant amusement park that is Trinity Groves has plenty of options, but the neighborhood has lacked a dining option for people who follow a plant-based diet. That will all soon change as V-Eats Modern Vegan makes its debut next month.

The much-anticipated, 100% vegan restaurant has largely kept mum on its progress, but a post to V-Eats’ Facebook page indicates that it will open at some point in October. Signage went up at the restaurant earlier in the month, and Gardner has been catering events over the past several weeks ahead of his new spot’s impending opening.

Al Biernat’s Will Bring Steak Back To Del Frisco’s Former North Dallas Home
September 30 2016
by Amy McCarthy

Quote:
The Dallas Morning News reports that Al Biernat’s has purchased the building on Spring Valley Road with plans to open a second outpost of the similarly spendy steakhouse. The original Oak Lawn location will stay open, which means that you’ll now have two places to stuff your face with pricey aged beef.
