Ummmm Highland Hills is in Oak Cliff, which is southwest Dallas, not southeast. Pleasant Grove is Southeast Dallas, not strictly East Dallas.

And the gangs in Dallas are nothing like they are in Chicago and LA. The Crips and Bloods aren't even real. They just claim a color and act like they apart of the original gang that started elsewhere.

There are bad parts all over Dallas. South, East, West and North have some horrible parts. A visual look around any area will tell you all you need to know. If it looks bad it will be bad plain and simple.

The only gunshots I hear are from the gun range and I'm usually there. Not all of Dallas is like the small section YOU live in.

These so-called "stats" are meaningless. Statistically worthless. And that's according to the FBI.

I'm sure Dallas is similar to St. Louis. Most of St. Louis is awesome, full of things to do and relatively safe, but stay away from East St. Louis. I'm not a huge fan of Cities, I would prefer to live out in the country but there is crime there too. Each area has it's good and bad, and that will never change. Even Anchorage, where I live now, has it's bad areas and good areas. We will be relocating to Dallas in the near future and plan on living on the North Side, Plano or Denton area. I'm not too worried about the crime rate at all. I can protect my family if need be and that's all we really can do.

I don't know how you can extrapolate that 'most of dallas dangerous' from a bad experience in a small part of Oak Cliff.

I no longer live in Dallas, but I live very close to it: just north of Belt Line and just west of 75, so Dallas is close. There is some property crime in this neighborhood but the rates are below average. I pay for insurance, lock my doors, and sleep well. I also have a couple of home protection aids but I would be shocked if I ever had to use one!
