Hey,

My son (with wife) is going to Parker University in Dallas soon. Is there reasonable housing that is in a safe area and not too far from the campus?

Thanks.

We see this question here about once a year. Parker is in a bad part of Dallas. The school itself is fine but the surrounding area (east of I35E and west of Webb Chapel) is not where you want your wife to live.
Look to the west in the Valley Ranch and Las Colinas areas of Irving. It's a short drive and there are many nice apartments.

A whole bunch of apartment buildings have sprouted up around the UT Southwestern campus (Harry Hines, south of Mockinbird Lane). Streets: Forest Park, Maple Ave, a new one going up on Inwood Rd near Denton Dr. This is not terribly far (by Dallas standards) from the Parker U. campus by car, and would actually be a "reverse commute" in the mornings. This housing would probably also put them in a community with lots of young adults (med students, graduate students, residents, etc).

There's also an apartment complex on Lemmon Ave at University and a few in the vicinity of Lover's Ln/Inwood Rd.

For houses, there are smallish ones between Marsh Ln & Midway Rd, south of Walnut Hill Ln.
