Default Foundation problems in hilly neighborhood

We're considering purchasing a home in a hilly community in Allen. Though I realize foundation problems are common in Collin County, are we at greater risk of having foundation problems in a hilly community? And if so, what precautions can we take. We're dealing with a new construction and community with no history to reference. Thanks!

In Texas it's not a matter of IF you're going to have foundation problems it's a matter of WHEN. If you're buying new construction most all builders have a 10 year structural warranty and they should tell you to keep soaker hoses out in the summer to keep the foundation from drying out if they don't then invest in some and use them religiously!!!

Allen really isn't all that hilly and there are worse places for foundation issues (carrollton) I wouldn't worry to much about the foundation so long as you take care of it and have a decent builder.

Best of luck with the new house!
