Our min schnauzer has a growth on one upper eyelid for couple of years.
It has been getting larger for past year...
The vet we used to see said it was typical and benign and didn't recommend removal...

Use a different vet now and tomorrow when we take her for this and another issue vet will likely recommend having it removed...first time we saw her, she said this growth would have been much easier to remove when it initially started because could have been frozen off vs removed surgically....so think it will need specialist and someone with good surgery skills...

Grapevine has opthamalogist vet but online reviews aren't as good as one in Plano...
Just wondered if anyone had personal reference/experience for one...

My bolobnese had cherry eye which was operated on by Dr Warren in Plano on Custer. All he does is animal eye surgery. He was great and it went great and highly successful outcome. He was a referral by our et. He did a bird and a horse eye same day he did our 11 pound dog. His staff is great as well. I highly recommend him. He has his own building now next door to the 24 hr emergence clinic and some other specialist vets.

Internal medicine vet there is outstanding too.he is treating my 4 pound bolonka for liver shunts successfully too I might add.

Our dog's ophthalmologist was at that Trinity Mills doggie specialist center. Her dermatologist was there, too.

They were really amazing to her.

Home Page - Center for Veterinary Specialty + Emergency Care

I can recommend the above unreservedly. The docs and staff there literally saved our female lab's life last year.

Dr Warren only does eyes for animals. He has significant experience in small animals as well as large animals. In my experience having small dogs (2 10 pounds and one 4 Lb) you want to be sure they can handle the smalls if you have one.

I really like the way the veterinarians in DFW have organized to serve pets. I understand there are a number of referral only vets like those mentioned here who specialize in various aspects like eyes etc. I believe there are 5 of these specialty clinics under one umbrella and that may just be the ones organized this way so may be more of course. Additionally there is one place in Irving where they have rigged up MRI and CAT scan equipment for animals. e lived in Houston before and peolple just took there pets up to Tx A&M for specialty needs.

Well she said that since it was on the outside of the lid it didn't have to be removed
And we really don't have an answer to her other issue either
Very frustrating when pets can't tell you what is bothering them...
