Thank you.

A self created low grade Lord of the Flies scenario. Concerns me as to what would happen if we had a real situation on our hands here in DFW.

They may be reporting there is no shortage NOW (thank goodness). They sure as heck weren't on Tuesday and Wednesday though. Several of the local networks were predicting a gas shortage, they created this mess. I do hope folks settle down soon because the entire ordeal is ridiculous.

Things may have improved somewhat in DFW. On GasBuddy tracker, I see about 30% green markers while yesterdays there were less than 5% green markers. A few minutes ago, I saw a gas delivery tanker truck and long lines at a Chevron station. It seems people are still filling up when they can.

Based on what I observed, gas stations where price is around 2.40 line is big, whereas in gas stations selling at 2.65 - 2.70 there is virtually no line. Also, most gas stations are selling only one fuel type (Regular).

I finally found some in Mckinney last evening at wal mart. Had not been able to get it for 3 days due to lines.

I went into work last Thursday to co-workers frantically warning me to top off. I decided to fill up at lunch time, just a few hours later. By then it was already too late; most places were out of fuel and there were hour-long lines where there was fuel. I didn't have enough time to wait.

I wound up wasting a decent amount of gas while searching for gas. At that point I opted out of the hysteria. After work I drove home and parked, then ubered to work the next day, then went and got gas on Saturday without a problem.

Here's a link to an article/video about a fight that broke out in the Dallas area re: this gas shortage. I'm not at all surprised by this, but it just makes you think about what would happen if we were facing a genuine gas crisis - like we saw in the 1970's:

There's a shortage?

I haven't been to the gas station in 2 weeks.
