So what? If it goes down the hill, be it - You don't need to and don't bother about Allen. For now, it is consistently being ranked high in various lists and changes are happening for better - many athletic parks being added to an already existing wonderful park and trail system (entire town is connected by walkways) one of its kind STEAM center, exclusive gifted and talented school, huge developments along 121 and 75, variety of new shopping options being announced etc. No one can predict long term future for any city, for now things look promising, Allen continues to focus on small town / residential feel, rapidly improving all necessary amenities surrounding the town without much hype.
We hope it's strategic location between 121 & 75 and small town characteristics compared to other neighboring towns will keep it prospering in the foreseeable future.

Are you selling homes in Allen or something? The sales pitch is getting a little tiresome. And the rudeness and defensiveness is off the charts too - why shouldn't we be bothered about Allen? Is it your personal property?

And yes, these rankings are to be taken with a huge pinch of salt (agree with BigD).

Not a single repeat in their top 10 in the last four years.

Allen is #2 in 2017
Plano was #3 in 2016
Coppell was #8 in 2015
McKinney was #1 in 2014

Pretty clear this is just marketing fodder.

You can take it with whatever amount of salt you want. But everything I said are facts. For this year Allen#2 is a fact. If you are tiresome to the facts in few posts, what about the other posts about Plano, Frisco etc. being repeatedly posted on these boards? All of them selling homes?

It is obvious some people can't stand the facts. And that's normal, I understand.

To anyone who thinks this is all marketing, all it takes is to drive down the streets in Allen after 5PM or really talk to Allen residents whether new residents or families who have been there since generations. I am sure they all agree with the ranking.

BTW, there is a book called 'You'll see it when you believe it' by Wayne Dyer.

Exactly. Some people think it is Marketing when Allen is selected. I don't think there are comments when McKinney, Plano or Coppell are in the list? Is it not marketing then? It's all great at that time. Suddenly it becomes marketing.

Allen has been a great place to live for years, and wasn't ranked in the top 50 the last 2 years. Money magazine is just rotating through the North Texas burbs (which in fact are all nice places to live). The lack of repetition of a single city in their top rankings from year to year should make it pretty clear what they are doing.
