Hi,

We are planning to buy a home and just started looking. We are considering either Frisco or Prosper. We want to buy a home which also acts as an investment. Can some suggest which one Frisco or Prosper is better that way and why? We are planning $600,000 max.

Also can you guys suggest any good existing or upcoming communities we can look at?

Thanks

Don't buy in a community where it will take years to build out. Why buy your house when you can buy a new one? Newman Village seems to be nearing completion. Where is the job? Commuting can be horrid and expensive.

I would pick Prosper. Even though Frisco started building out rapidly many years before Prosper, Prosper is much smaller, and should reach full build out more quickly.

I would also say that until recently, when builders started building smaller homes on smaller lots, the average Prosper home was valued higher than the average Frisco home. The population density is much better in Prosper than it is in Frisco. That also means less traffic.

Frisco will be close to 400,000 people at build out.Prosper is 22 square miles and will be near 65,000.The city of Frisco is a suburban mega city with a diverse housing stock. The town of Prosper is more of a bedroom community that will be made up of mostly single family homes on quarter acre plus lots.Prosper will never have the amount of retail or density of Frisco.I woukd suggest doing a thorough drive around both areas to compare feels...

How is the home an investment? Are you planning on using it as a rental, or an investment in your children's education/social upbringing?

What time frame for this investment.? There are lots of empty land in those areas and endless subdivisions keep popping out.
