Smile Best public or private schools in Dallas area for autistic 10 year old?

Hello. My family may be relocating to the Dallas area in the next couple of years. One of the main issues for us is a great school system that has a wonderful program for our son with Autism. I am not opposed to public school...just want one that knows what they are doing and can offer a lot for our sweet boy with special needs. We have 2 younger daughters that will start school in about 3 years as well. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks so much.

Hi. GreatSchools.net is where I would start, at least to get an idea, and combine that with all the great help you'll get on this forum, they all have great ideas and suggestions. We are moving soon, so I have appreciated every word read here so far. Good luck to you.

Try searching Austism in the Dallas section. There's been at least 3 threads on this that I think you will find helpful.

Carrollton-Farmers Branch also offers some wonderful support for autistic children. I know that CFB has an austic team ( specialists).

I'm not too sure about what private schools can offer you in this area. You may have to google as another poster suggested to find specific schools that might work with autistic children.
