We are doing a documentary/survey on the homeless population in Dallas. I'm also working with developers to build three transitional apartment buildings for homeless. First building set to open Spring 2019. Yayyy!!!

With that being said if you are tired of seeing homeless on the street or just want to help your fellow man tell me where I can find a large number of homeless people. The people in our surveys will be some of the first people we accept into the building.

Thanks.

You're building three apartment buildings for the homeless... but you don't know where you can find the homeless people for these apartments?

Why not build apartments for homeless in areas with an overwhelming number of homeless? Are you planning to bus them into Dallas?

Why ask silly questions instead of answering my question to be helpful? Yes we are building transtitonal housing for the homeless. It's a one year program that offers supportive services such as counseling and job placement. Is that an issue? Or would you prefer if we leave them homeless?

It's the developers money so they have the final say on site selection.

I would agree with this. This seems like simple business planning.

The Fair Park area has a fair amount of homelessness. Also look for panhandlers at major intersections throughout the city.

Under the bridge at I-45 just south of the I-45 and 30 interchange there was a large encampment last time I drove in that area.

There’s almost always panhandlers at the service roads at Mockingbird & Central and also Preston near Northpark. Lots of homeless downtown near the West End DART station.

Also I see homeless under the bridge near Stemmons at Childrens Hospital and at 183/Carpenter and Regal Row under that bridge.

Lots of Homeless near the shelters....

They weren't "silly" questions. I would expect anyone who is going to be forking over a significant amount of money, time, and energy into building apartments for people to have a little understanding as to where they could find the people they are supposedly building for.

Any land developer, be it for apartments, single family homes, a McDonalds, etc... spends time collecting this information well in advance to either make or break a case for building.
