Default Moving to Irving (Tx) Area

Hello,
I am planning on moving from the SF Bay area to Irving area for a job in Aug 08. Having followed the current discussion thread, can someone suggest areas to consider other than Las colinas and valley ranch. Looking for some advice on good elementary schools and short term (2-3month) furnished housing (it will take me sometime to sell my home here and relocate my family and stuff to Texas)
Thanks

Default Jefferson Creek Apartments

Quote:
I was wondering if you can recommend any good apartments preferably with some good things like as follows:

1) Good Indian community
2) Kid friendly -- preferably play area / play park inside the apartment complex
3) Washer & Dryer inside the unit.
4) Proximity to best preschools in Irving vicinity
5) Proximity to Oracle office in Xerox center building, West Las Colinas Blvd.
I would recommend looking at either Jefferson Creek Apartments or Jefferson Place Apartments (directly across the street). They're located at the intersection of Royal Lane and MacArthur. Both are owned by Westdale (www.westdale.com (broken link)) and both have relatively high amounts of Indian residents.

You can rent a washer/dryer and have it installed in your apartment. The monthly rental fee is $35. Water and trash are billed separately, as is electricity. I found Jefferson Creek to be a nice place with young families, plenty of play space, a decent pool, and a pleasant view of the creek. It's pretty close to the buildings of Las Colinas, and the drive would be only a few minutes.

Having just moved from Jefferson Creek along with my fiancee, I can tell you there are at least two 600 sq/ft apartments available for lease in July, if not sooner. It's worth checking out the complexes if you get a chance.

Good luck!

ankitvikash, find an apartment locator in the Las Colinas/Valley Ranch area of Irving. You can find one online. You can also look on Craigslist.com but an apartment locator should have more variety. You can do an online search. I live in the area but don't know what RIC centre is........

I'm a native of the Dallas area and have never heard of the RIC in Irving. I even googled "Regional Information Center Irving Texas" and no specific results came up. The closest result was the North Texas Regional Extension Center, located in Las Colinas. Perhaps you are referring to this establishment?

At any rate, I would second Squirl's advice and recommend you search Craigslist and several online apartment locators across the city to find an apartment suitable to your needs. What is your maximum monthly budget for an apartment?

And if you want to be located very close to the North Teas Regional Extension Center then I recommend you look at the Marabella apartments. I know people who have resided there and liked it alot.
