I can't get Ch. 8 on it at all. No problems with Ch 5, 11, 13 ION, and a bunch of others. But I miss ABC! Anyone have a DHL and can get ABC?

I have the same problem with channel 8. I just move my antenna around the TV until I get the reception.

This is a very common problem (try Googling it).

IIRC, WFAA broadcasts on a VHF signal and everyone else broadcasts on a UHF signal. If you're using one of those flat "leaf" or "stingray" antennas you won't be able to pick it up, especially as far north as you are (Grapevine?). We can barely pick up CBS & NBC with ours. You'll need one with a VHF pickup and may have to put it in the attic or even on your roof.

Let us know how that works out.

There is a really good website that uses your address to check what antennas will work best for you
Very specific suggestions for different transmitting towers
Can't remember the site but likely an easy Google fix...

Antennaweb.org might be the site the poster above me is thinking about?

I live in Grapevine and after replacing my roof (radiant barrier killed the reception for my attic antenna), I installed an outdoor UHF/VHF antenna on the roof.

When I had the attic antenna, I could not get ABC at all. Now that I have an outdoor antenna, ABC is fine, it's NBC that I've lost signal on for some reason.

You can buy a signal booster for pretty cheap but it might mess up the channels you do receive by over amplifying them. Fry's sells small ones for about $30 or so, cheaper on Amazon.

If possible, I would try to install something on the roof. If you can do that, I would avoid those little 'figure 8' type antennas.

I paid $50 or so for a HDB8X-NI on sale through Amazon. It works well (minus my sudden NBC problem) plus I have it split to go to my stereo receiver for radio stations.

I also have a Tablo so I can record the OTA channels/shows and it's rare that signal/recording isn't perfect.

Interesting info. The reviews I read before buying it didn't mention that I might need a different type. I checked on a web site that I was close enough to a transmission tower to check reception range. I was good to go - or so I thought.

NBC did some changes a few weeks ago and was telling everyone to re-scan to pick the signal back up. Try that.

Yes, I had to re-scan for NBC. Works just fine.
