Default Short Term Car Lease in Dallas?

I'm looking for a car to use in Dallas this summer. I'm planning on moving to the east coast around Labor day and am not interested in bringing the car with me.

That said, I'm looking for suggestions for obtaining a car for a short period of time (3-5 months). I'm not interested in any particular make or model, nor am I especially concerned with how reliable it will be in the long term (as I only plan on using it for a few months). All I really care about is that the car is affordable and gets me around this summer.

Has anyone done something like this before? Or know of any dealerships in the metroplex that negotiate short term rentals/leases for used vehicles? What are my options when it comes to doing something like this?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Might try AutoFlex. They have been around for a long time and they lease out new vehicles of all makes and models and then sell them at the end of the lease. They tend to attract those wanting a higher end car but you might try them. Otherwise I have no idea. For what it would cost to rent one longterm from a regular car rental agency it might be cheaper to buy a beater to use and then sell it.

I know someone who rents a car every summer from Enterprise. The regular car rental palces might be able to help you out.

Thats for the tip, I checked out the rental car places but they want around $500 a month for the smallest models - which is unfortunately a little out of my price range. Back to the drawing board...

Renting is expensive, but you are absolutely guaranteed to lose money if you plan to buy & sell a car in a 4 month period. Just suck it up & rent one.
