EDS certainly added to the boom, but Plano was taking off LONG before their move. TI, Rockwell/Collins and others had much to do with that.

And, as I've said in other posts, the last time I checked, it was ok for someone to choose where they live regardless of the reason.

I'd agree. TI and Rockwell/Collins were probably the biggest early contributors to the entire Richardson/Plano area.

The telecom corridor boom in Richardson had at least as much to do with the boom in Plano as anything EDS did.

Of course we all know that you didn't really mean it as a compliment, as is so often the case with bitter, resentful little people, but hey - we're used to it.

If the worst thing you can say about a place is that they have nice cars, big houses, upscale shopping, and good restaurants, we're doing pretty good.

Positive rep for you, my friend!
Nicely said!

JC Penney world headquarters move put Plano on the map nationwide. Of course EDS owns & sold most of the land to these corporate companies off the Tollway & Legacy row.

It has become very humorous to try to guess how many posts it will take for one of them to show up; in fact I'm shocked they haven't visited this thread yet.

You'll know them when you see them because of their empty, pathetic, and baseless cheap-shots.

West Plano is a very, very nice place to live.
Boy you call me a snob. Look at you assuming that anyone who dares speak a negative word about the holy golden land that is West Plano must be jealous. The jealousy retort is such pop psychology. It's like the default response by anyone without any real merit to back up their claim. And well look here you are hurling insults, the same thing you scolded me for.

Maybe, just maybe its that we honestly do not like it and for that exact attitude. Maybe its the fact that people who live in West Plano, can't simply say they live in Plano, it has to be West Plano with an air of arrogance.

I don't have anything against Plano itself, I have something against your terrible attitude. I'm sure there are man, wonderful, honest, hard working people all over Plano. Moderator cut: no insults please, nice job of giving your hometown a bad name.

MaryS80, I see you've made it over to the other West Plano thread after all the back and forth discussion in the other thread. This is turning into quite the Garland vs Plano showdown isn't it?
We get it. You don't like Plano...the west section or otherwise. But come on, admit you come over here to go to the "good" Wal-Mart like everyone else. Plano's where it's at...like it or not.

Wow. Might I suggest you go over to the other thread we've been debating tonight and see the civil reply I made regarding your last post? You will also note that I made it clear that when the insults start flying, I'm going to throw it right back in your face. Read the threads that were going on at the same time I posted the comments you're referencing, and you'll see why I said this.

Yes, you can be guaranteed that when the same bitter and hateful people begin to depart civility and resort to insults, I'm going to feed it back to them with interest...

I did my best to reason with her, but it looks like she has embarked on a retaliation mission. You just need to understand that anytime you make a post about Plano/Frisco/etc. you will encounter the same people who will spit out their hateful, baseless, generalized monologue. You can also depend on the exact same words, as sure as the sun rises in the east.
