70 mph speed limit. 7 million people. Sanctuary city. Construction everywhere. This is to be expected

Lots of unlicensed/uninsured drivers too....but Dallas drivers have always been ballsy and aggressive ever since I started paying attention in the 1980s.

“We also have the most pedestrians killed on freeways”.

What’s wrong with that sentence right there?

They're probably dividing the population of Dallas proper with the number of deaths on roads in Dallas proper.

Since such a high percentage of metroplex residents live in the suburbs, this skews the numbers upward, making Dallas seem more dangerous than it is.

Of course, this would be true in all cities, but I think in Dallas it is especially true.

It was funny that when I moved to Boston I had to drive LESS aggressively. So there for stereotypes!

Not surprising. I feel like Dallas drivers are allergic to the turning signal switch. I believe they think if they have to use it, they’ll break out into hives.

I have had SO many close calls because people refuse to use their turning signals. I cannot read the mind of drivers around me! So, when someone abruptly changes into my lane, I have to hit the breaks (or sometimes swerve into another lane) to avoid a collision. Please North Texans use your signals! It’s so simple. That alone will help a ton...

I read the original (long) Houston Chronicle story on this, these are metro area numbers unfortunately. Most of the traffic deaths in DFW actually don't happen in Dallas proper, they happen in the burbs during late night hours.

I feel like people think using a turn signal in Dallas is a sign of weakness. Irks the he** out of me!

Well I'm sure some will say it's people being on freeways, but I wonder why they are there, how did we design freeways soo poorly that people feel like they need to play ******* to get across?
