How is the weather in the Dallas area?? Where I come from there is no change of seasons, its always hot (shorts worn on christmas) and then theres the chance of hurricanes.
So I was wondering what the weather is in Dallas? Does it snow? How cold does it get? Are tornados that common over there? How hot does it get? Do you guys get a change of seasons? What are the weather extremes? Thanks!

The air is sticky in the summer and it's very warm for about 4-5 months during the summer. It's nothing like Florida though, but you can expect 90's to 100's with slightly high humidity.

It will be quite a bit different than Florida. It does get cool/cold during Fall & Winter. There is usually one or two ice or snow events each year, but it does not last too long. Check the following links for average temps, and other weather related info on the area:

We have four seasons - sometimes all in one week.

Many states claim, "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it'll change." Dallas has halfway decent seasons, but the summers are brutal, way too hot for too long and late into the nights and too humid. Some time in October, things get better and Fall is quite nice. Winter is mild, but there have been some years when it gets quite cold but that's short lived. Yes, it can snow, but never much. Of course, there's also an exception to that. Spring is pretty nice except when the humidity is high. Then after a cold-front, it's nice again for a while but with the cold front and the warm and moist air from the Gulf, the chance for severe storms and tornadoes is upon us. Once May gets here, get ready for hot and humid until October.

Oh the weather.............
Well we are feeling sleepy in Mckinney this morning due to the fact that our weather alarm went off twice last night. Strong winds, small hail, lighting, tons of rain.........as our young ones says "mother nature sure is exciting here." We are still adjusting to how strong the storms are here.

I'm sleepy too cause the thunder and lightening woke me up around 5:30. Lit up my whole bedroom, even through closed blinds.

Like my friend from Austin told us before we moved here from CA, "If you don't like the weather wait an hour it will change" He also said to make sure that you have a coat in your car even if it is nice when you leave the house in the morning. Coming from CA where you really only have one season we like the weather!
