Hello! My family and I are moving to Dallas from Chicago and looking for half day kindergarten. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Half day kinder is really rare here. Depending on when your kiddo’s birthday is, there are some schools that do a true half day PK5 but then kinder is more 9-2ish hours. These will all be private schools who have already closed the admissions process for 2019-2020 so finding a half day + having spots open still is a pretty uphill battle.

It would also be helpful to know where in “Dallas” you’re moving. For some posters, “Dallas” can mean McKinney or Keller both of which are in DFW but about an hour’s drive from downtown Dallas. Since you have another open saying you’re moving to Houston, it seems like you don’t really know where or if you’re moving??

OP posted the same thing in the Houston’s forum. Apparently he’s confused about where he’s moving.

I know of private preschools that do a 4 day 9-2 Kinder, but it isn't a true replacement for Kindergarten. The majority of kids in it are late summer birthdays who need an extra year to mature and then they head off to regular full day kinder the next year.
