Hello.
Our family will be moving to Dallas due to change in my job. I will be working in Frisco. We are moving from Massachusetts. Our 10 year old is high functioning ADHD. He currently has an IEP and make good progress. He goes to integrated 4th grade with a lot of pull out sessions.

Can some one please help with which elementary schools in Frisco or Plano would be more appropriate for my situation. We will be initially renting and then buy in about a year. We can spend up to $3000 on rental.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t have any special needs children, but I would think that the Frisco and Plano ISDs would be pretty similar. If looking in Plano, I would look in areas west of 75.

Where is work? The DFW Metroplex is about the same size area-wise as Connecticut. You probably don’t want to live in Plano or Frisco and then have to commute to Fort Worth everyday, for example.

Compared to Massachusetts schools especially, I think that you will find the special ed programs in Texas to be lacking. You might have to at least consider private schools.

I am not sure if you are considering private schools, but the Winston school in Dallas is considered one of the top schools in the area for students with learning disabilities. It is located at the tollway and Royal Lane. So, it's a little far from Frisco, but it may be worth it depending on your financial situation and his needs.
