We considered looking at McKinney but heard that it has been affected a lot by the foreclosure/subprime mess and that sellers have had a difficult time selling there. I have also heard there are problems with the schools. Might take some time for that to all straighten out. Hopefully it's on its way up.

I drove around the southwestern edge of McKinney just yesterday- the first time I've actually been in McKinney! Granted, I didn't see much of the town, but from what I saw I really don't see what all the fuss is about with people so eager to move out there. Looked just like any other suburb, and it seems like Frisco has a lot more to offer.

Only the first set was on my phone (AT&T Tilt), the second set was from my camera (I wish my phone's camera worked that well )

lol no your hubby is certainly incorrect about being non desirable town. It is not industrial either. Lewisville sits off of I35 highway that goes to and downtown Dallas area. I35 also goes to Oklahoma

Lewisville and the surrounding area is a much desired place.

The big draw is the airport is about 20 min max away and super easy access
Lewisville highschool and Marcus Highschool are great schools. Marcus is in the area where the higher end homes.

This is the 3rd time we have lived in this district and have to say, I would reccommend this town and especially Highland Village. We have the lowest crime rate and it is so cozy we have policeman drive around patroling the neighborhood. About 3 weeks ago Officer Oldaker a young strapping young fella came to my house. I have children older than him. He could not see me in the garage but he could see a portion of the garage open. He was checking to see if anyone was home. I was in the garage painting a big oil painting. He was really nice. Today, he made a visit too me again. My garage door was open and he must have known I was home because he came in the garage where I was working. We chatted and I showed him my cockatiels eggs and asked him if he wanted one when they hatched. Nice young man. I can't say enough great things about our police department here. And we have some of the best tasting water. My granddaughter attends her girlscout meeting in the old city hall. They put that room to good use.

City of Highland Village - Police Department

My husband is the picky one. But, I have learned how to pick too. Look into Highland Village because this is the best place I have ever lived. I can't say enough great things about this area. Great schools, great neighbors, water, police and great oak trees with squirrels.

I will definately miss my neighborhood when I move.

Any insight into Lewisville? Is it really ugly and industrial? Filled with Section 8? Why would someone want to move into Castle Hills if Lewisville is potentially old and not very desireable (as my hubby thinks)?

Default Love Castle Hills!

We love Castle hills....we have been here five years from another country and don't ever want to leave.

We have one in kinder and one in 1st at the elementary school and love it. The neighborhood has a foundation which supplies the schools of Castle Hills children with all sorts of extras. The teachers are great and so is the parent involvement.

We are selling the home we are in and moving to a different one this month. It is still for sale if you are interested in a pool it is a great house....we just need a one storey.

I highly advise a move to the area.....we love it for our family.

The area is LISD which is a great school district and the housing is actually closer to Carrollton. It is a strange situation but trust me it is ok. Castle hills is a little village within a city.
