Rockwall Texas
Hi...
My family and I are moving to Rockwall this summer. We are looking at the North (i think it is) side because my husband works in Dallas so he can take the back way through Wylie. We have found a neighborhood called The Shores and we were curious for some feedback if anyone knows anything. Also, if you know of other good neighborhoods that direction, please fill me in! Thank you so much!

Have many friends that live in The Shores. They all LOVE IT!
Is your husband working IN Dallas? If so then I would NOT go thru Wylie AT ALL!!!!! MUCH quicker and easier to go straight down I30 instead of twisting and turning to get to Hwy 78 then fight the traffic down 78 all the way thru Wylie and Sachse to get to Hwy 190 then over to 75. GADS!!! Stick to I30. Straight shot and MUCH EASIER!

I'm gonna have to agree with mom...don't go through Wylie and all that mess...unless you want your husband to commit suicide...if that's the case, by all means...send him through...
I've got a couple of friends that live in The Shores as well, and like mom's friends, they love the place...
And that golf course isn't too shabby...even with the dang wind...if I remember correctly, there is a 5 iron of mine in one of those Water Hazards...

Yeah... you don't want to go 205 to 78 to 190, that would be a nightmare.
Now if you work in Northeast Richardson, East Plano, Murphy, Wylie, Sachse... then that's a different story.
My wife takes that route, but we live in Sachse and she works in Rockwall.

There are a few neighborhoods on the north side if that is really where you want to be that are very desirable. The Shores being one of them, Caruth Lake is a smaller community with not many homes that come on the market, Lakeview Summit is a nice one too with some new construction too.
If you decide to be closer to I30, there are other communities there too.

I was stuck in Wylie this afternoon. They closed 78 from 205, they were looking for someone that drowned at the lake. If you're not local and don't know the shortcuts and side roads, getting to Rockwall was a nightmare today!!! I haven't seen the news yet on it...

Yup... my wife was saying it was a 66 to Liberty Grove Rd day today. Why would they have to close the whole road for a search?
I notice that's much more common here in TX... roads just being closed, no detours, nothing... just sorry, can't get through here.

Looking to Move to Rockwall
We are looking to move to Rockwall and wanted some information about Rockwall schools particularly Rockwall High School. We come from a small town community setting although our school is a huge 5A district school. We are looking to move to a small town type community. How are the schools up there? I have 3 children they all love sports, especially baseball. My son is a Sr in HS (5A school) and captain of the baseball team down here. So this move, due to my company relocation, is going to be pretty hard on him. What does the Rockwall HS Baseball team look like? My daughter (13) loves theatre and my youngest son (11) is very involved in baseball. He plays year round. Can anyone give me more information on these topics... We have lived in our small town our whole lives, where everyone knows everyone. We really would like some help in making this decision. Any help, advice and/or opinion you can provide about Rockwall I would greatly appreciate. Thanks.
