Dallas Symphony Orchestra has cancelled the three shows with Chris Botti for this weekend. We had awesome seats for Sunday. I am extremely disappointed. I understand it may be necessary, but I'm still disappointed.

ETA: this info is from Chris Botti on Instagram, not from the Dallas Symphony; I have to verify it with them still.

My wife is high risk with RA and powerful immunosuppressive meds at age 70. We stocked up and started self isolation in our home over 10 days ago. We have sufficient frozen food and other basic household goods to last us a month or so. With her risk factors we took the strongest self protection measures as they emerged. Cancelled routine Doc check ups from a few of her specialists.

Going a bit stir crazy without sports on tv but we will do what we need to increase our probability of success. If one needs fresh fruit and veggies I believe Super Walmarts at 4am are a good time to get those as the store has been near empty a few hours, when you get home wash your hands as the packages can bring the virus into your home.

Life has changed for a while until we out last this virus hopefully until longer sun exposure can help reduce its prominence in our hemisphere and to allow time for the general population immunity factors build up. Buying time is our friend and keeps the hospitals further from over load if we are lucky and gives us a chance to be able to use new treatment as it finally emerges for next season hopefully.

At this point we all should not talking about the negative but rather think of the positive.
We all fortunate that we leave in a great nation with many great intelligent medical professionals and available medical resources and I believe with just a little patience, faith and truth we will defeat this virus.

Apologies for my English.

Be safe take care of your self everyone, keep your head up the sun will shine again.

How many people have been told by their employer to work remotely? I realize not everyone has that ability given the nature of jobs, but if you can, have you been instructed to?

I already work from home, but my company has put a moratorium on all non essential travel (and they've basically said ALL travel is non-essential for business purposes.) We have a conference call in 20 minutes to discuss further developments, but most of the trade shows from now to the next 2 months have already been canceled, and several clients have already put out memos of their own saying they will not be scheduling any in person meetings until further notice.

Silver lining, this coronavirus may finally be the thing that pushes more companies to adopt work from home positions for jobs that do not require going into an office. If even half the companies in the DFW area embraced work from home more, there would be a real reduction in traffic congestion and time spent by everyone commuting.

Yesterday, I got an email from the Dallas Summer Musical, and it said that everything is still on as scheduled. I've tickets to Come From Away for tomorrow (14-Mar), and still debating if I should go.

An American Airlines pilot based in DFW has tested positive. No information on his routes or when he last flew.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ronavirus.html

It is really irresponsible to not release more information. We flew on American last month.

My wife, she's a CIO, along with many from her team and other departments, has/have been preparing her company for remote work. They began the roll out yesterday. Worldwide they want 80% of workers to work from home UTFN. Another 10% will work in skeleton crews to keep servers running and the like. They began the rollout yesterday.
