From Miami to Dallas
Hello... I was hoping someone could help list some apartments or townhomes in the Uptown, Knox Henderson, Lakewood, M street area. I have a Large dog of 120 pounds who is well trained and 4 years old. I have been online looking for a place for about a week and would love some advice. I will be moving there June 2 and working at Baylor.
Thank you

I don't think that anyone would have such a list. The apartments and townhome communities in Uptown and Knox-Henderson are usually in large communities managed from a central office, and there are plenty of vacancies for you to choose from. Just show up and start looking around.
Lakewood and the M streets area is predominantly single-family detatched houses rather than apartments or townhouses.
Good luck and welcome to Dallas.

Have you considered using an apartment locator service? They are free to you cause they get paid from the apts. I used one when I moved to Atlanta site unseen and they did a great job in putting me in the exact location, price range and type of community I was seeking.

Other than the big dog, what price range are you wanting to stay within? apartment size needs etc.? Would you consider renting a house? duplex?

I would like to stay under $1300. No real needs in an apt. other than washer/dryer connections. How are the apt.s by White Rock Lake?

I would check out craigslist -- you may be able to get a smaller house or duplex at that price with a yard - campagna realtors handles a lot of these. You might also check out power properties, cityville, trammell crow, UCR etc.
if you go on forum.dallasmetropolis.com there area discussions about various developments. About 20 acres of old apartments have been demolished off Henderson and Fitzhugh for redevelopment. Some of the new apartments and townhomes are just coming on line.
