Dallas has some amazing LD private schools albeit pricey. I’ve heard Richardson was good for dyslexia- but that was 3rd hand.

By LD I think he meant "learning differences".

Hello Lifepurpose,

Do you have an official diagnosis for your child? If so, by law all public school districts will then set up an Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meeting. An ARD meeting is a meeting of a group of people who help to determine whether or not a student is eligible for special education and develops the Individual Education Program (IEP) for eligible students.

Of course, there are some great private schools in the area such as Shelton and Winston that are geared towards student bodies that have learning differences. They are expensive, $25-30K a year.

I understand the process, but was just trying to get a feel for what schools are recommended and have great experience with catering to such needs.

My brother has a child with learning differences that attends Harrington Elementary in Plano, zip 75075.

I have been very surprised and impressed when I hear about all the accommodations that have made for my nephew to enhance his learning experience. He has really flourished and is even taking some advanced courses now.
