Impressive new casino addition just south of Durant. Opens in 90 days, twenty story tower with two wings makes the original complex look small and dated. First time I've been up to Durant since before Covid. Very upscale looking just like Big D residents seem to like lol

Durant is county seat of Bryan County which is the fastest growing county in Oklahoma that is not a suburb of Tulsa or OKC. The Casino is a big party of it but they attract jobs that want Oklahoma for what ever reason but want to be near DFW Metro. Micro Steel Mill landed there a couple of years ago, Recycled steel is melted down in a uber hot furnace using electricity to melt it down. Second largest electricity consuming site in the state. Around 20 cities in 5 different states competed for this facility which is owned by an Irving company CMC I believe.

I don't know how to attach a link here or I would. Its worth seeing

Here are the last weekend conditions at the two OK casinos north of the border:

Choctaw:
NO Mask Mandatory (half of worker no longer wears mask)
6 players (full) per table
Minimum $10-$15 (you can find some $5 tables in the non-smoking section, if they're opened)

Winstar:
Mask still Mandatory (all workers wear masks)
4 players per table
Minimum $5

Interesting never been inside either one. Disappointed though as elderly mom loves in Durant. Will have her keep on masking despite her vaccine.

The casino has been a positive overall for Durant so hope this doesn't set the area back in covid
