Default Is Lake Ray Hubbard good for boating, biking around?

We are new to Dallas. Is Lake Hubbard Ray a reasonably clean lake? What is it known for and what activities are good for that area?

Thank you!

It's pretty much a recreation lake. Plenty of jet ski's and boats during the summer. I would consider it a clean lake by Texas standards. I can't answer the biking question but I have been fishing the lake since I was 8 years old. It's best known for having a Bass Pro shop and the hybrid striper/white bass fishing.

You can't bike around LRH. The shoreline doesn't have a bike path. The only lake I'm aware of where you can bik eis White Rock Lake. Lake Lavon has some hiking and horse trails.

Great boating and fishing.
Keep your eye out for the Bald Eagle who nests near the lake.

What kind of cycling are you into? We have routes that skirt the lake on roads in Sunnyvale. Rides start from a couple of locations on that side of town.

If you live around the North end of Lake Ray Hubbard between Rowlett and Rockwall the Hwy. 66 bridge that crosses the lake is a great place to bike and jog. It has a concrete divider, so you are safe from traffic crossing the bridge. I bike it from my house on the Rowlett side and its usually a 7+ mile round trip. I'm just an amateur but its fun and the view and breeze are great. If you aren't afraid to bike on the side of the road you can do that on a lot of the other roads near the lake. There's usually a bike tour around the Lake once a year too.

Lake Ray Hubbard is a very nice and clean lake. It is probably one of the nicest and safest ones in the area. Last 4th of July, there was a ton of boats out there and they had a big fireworks show.
