Hello all,

Looking for some advice on new home builders in the DFW area. We currently live in a pre-owned home in the DFW area. Given the slight cooling of the housing market in the area, we are exploring some builders for getting a new home built out. Specifically looking for luxury builders ($1M+). Toll Brothers name has been thrown around but there can't be just one good builder in the area, right? Looking for some help from the forum. Is Coventry Homes a good builder? How about Grand Homes? Any advice from experience helps!

Thanks in advance!

Toll Brothers may be considered a luxury builder but due to Covid/supply chain/labor issues, their customer service is in shambles. I looked into building with them and they told me that it is taking 18-24 years to build a home. If you check their online review you will see poor reviews over the past few years.

Darling, Drees, Huntigton are good builders.
There is a long thread in this forum about good and bad builders you may find helpful.

None of these Builders are true "Luxury Builders". You want a true Luxury Builder you'll be with names you've never heard of like Jim Street and Terry Holmes.

I would never buy a home from Grand, Perry or Coventry. Probably not Toll Bro's either if I had a choice.

Semi- Luxury brand is Highland Homes big Brother companies - Huntington and Saunders. If you want a quality name brand you may have heard about. But the true Luxury Builders never get mentioned on City Data.

Building a true luxury home means choosing a high-end custom builder who will build on your lot using plans designed for you by an architect.

Thank you very much! The builders you have mentioned are really good. How can I find that thread? Should I search for home builders in dallas?

Thank you for your response. How do I find such builders? And is it word of mouth, for recommendations?
