I have lived in both cities and it all depends on what
you are looking for. San Antonio was great for family
fun stuff to do and lots of attractions. North Dallas
suburbs for kids and families.
Have a wonderful day!

Laurie

Looking for suburban area with a decent amount of trees (not all brown) with good schools, nice homes less than 7years old in the $150k-230k range, convinience to shopping (Like Target, Kroger, maybe a mall not too far) and where people still have that nice, downhome Texan attitude... does that exist in either Dallas or SA? I was looking at Frisco in DFW and maybe Little Elm in SA (although I haven't gotten but 2 posts on what Little Elm is like). I've been to all the attractions in most Texas towns, they are nice, but I wouldn't plan on visiting, say Seaworld, more than once a year, so I don't mind a roadtrip.

I have lived in Dallas for 21 years and had to move to SA about 1.5 year ago and I would say Dallas is where I prefer to be. SA to me is about 2 decades behind and a lot to catch up compared to Dallas, Austin, & Houston. Small town thinking will not help the city move fwd.

Austin is worth visiting maybe once in a lifetime because there really is nothing to do there unless you are visiting family or close friends.

Honestly, I think Austin is great place to visit and have fun, but not where I would want to plant roots. That's just my personal opinion, though. Some will disagree.

I'll research Fair Oaks Ranch...
