I'm seriously considering taking a permanent job at the place I currently work temp . I currently live in Bedford and the commute from where I currently live to Arlington (off I-20 and New York) is about 25-30 minutes. It's not a bad commute and I'm usually going against the heavy traffic congestion.
I'll be working 3 days a week (M , W, F) . Also would it be reasonable to commute from uptown Dallas to Arlington ?

I need advise on a good safe place to get an apartment. I'm a single 30 year old female , no children . I prefer newer apartments, gated community, with garage . Price shouldn't exceed 1000-1200/month

thanks

I don't know where you should live but I can tell you when I lived in Arlington, I absolutely LOVED it. Because of the University, its a 24 hour a day kind of town.

Everything I needed was right there at the tip of my fingers.

I commuted from the M Streets/Vickery Place (Just minutes northeast of Uptown) to UTA for my undergraduate degree and it wasn't that bad. 25 to 30 minutes on most mornings. Also, you would only be doing that three days a week so it would be manageable. I would add that if I had to do it 5 days a week for more than 2 years, I would probably go crazy.

1000 to 1200 should get you what you are looking for in Uptown.
