Default Home Inspection Service

I am buying a house in Plano and need a good home inspection service to inspect the home. Does anyone have a recommendation? Also, do these companies also do pool inspections? Thanks!

I've used Bryan Whitson from Pillar to Post for both our home inspections. He does a thorough job with most inspections taking 3 - 4 hours. He's listed as working South Dallas/Duncanville/Cedar Hill, but he lives up in McKinney and has inspected at least one home for me in Plano.

Some home inspectors will inspect pools also. You will have to call around and find one that does offer pool inspections.

We built a house with Huntington Homes and used LeGros Home Inspection. Mark is awesome! Even the lead builder was surprised at the things he found at inspection.

We were very happy with his report and the fact he could get us in in our short time frame. We were long distance shopping and the contract negotiations ran long, cutting down our inspection time.

Hint: The most important thing when you do an inspection is to meet the inspector when he is finished so you can go over the report, ask questions & decide what are major repair issues.

I hate when agent & buyers don't show up for their inspection. They are almost clueless when dealing with on reasonable repairs and the process is 5 times more difficult.

I would recommend actually being there while the inspection is going on. You will learn all sorts of good information about your house (not only condition, but where things are located.)

Usually the inspector will be there for 3-4 hours and I've found it's best to let him do his thing with no interferance / guestions. It really can slow him down.

That's why we show up at the end. The inspector I recommend will spend as much time as needed going over the report and showing us what he's found.

I want him to concentrate on the inspection without being side tracked.

Default Home Inspector

I used Emerald Home Inspections when I moved down to Dallas. Ian is his name. Irish guy who plays bagpipes as well!!! He was very thorough and did a computer report with pictures. I called around and he seemed competitive in pricing. His number is 214-738-5741
