Yeah, it sounds silly (or like that Friends episode when Monica's credit card is stolen), but I'd love to take a tap & jazz class in Dallas.

I grew up dancing and took a class when I lived in DC. I loved it! Fun & good exercise!

Any suggestions? Please remember, this is tap/jazz dance lessons, NOT ballroom (although that's cool, too. Just not what I'm looking for).

I believe the Farmers Branch Recreation Center offers tap for adults. Other recreation centers may as well.

You can shuffle ball change at most dance studios. They have adult classes, too. Here's what I went to as a kid that is still going strong and has adult classes.

Default Tap Lessons Plano Park and Recreation

My Mom takes tap and has for several years through Plano Parks and Recreation- they have a blast and perform each year at special events. I believe they offer a variety of levels and dance classes to choose from.

Most of our community colleges offer dance classes though their continuing education departments. I'd recommend Richland--

"The Richland Dance Theatre department offers classes in ballet, jazz, modern, pointe, tap, performance, and dance appreciation. Levels of instruction range from beginner ( no previous dance experience or training) to advanced. Morning, afternoon and evening classes are available during fall, spring and first summer semesters."

Hope you find a studio or program you enjoy. Dance just can't be beat for fun and exercise. Not silly at all that you'd want to return to it.

It will not matter where you locate around here as you should be able to find a suitable dance class and probably several to pick from. Most dance studios do offer adult classes as well. Every rec center has dance classes as well for adults from ballroom to square dancing to tap and jazz. As soon as you have your residence location nailed down then look up the nearest rec center (the schedule for fall classes should be coming out soon at the rec centers and dance studios) and/or dance studio.

Thanks, all!

Yep, my DC dance classes were at the Rec Center. Cheap & all kinds of folks (aka body types ). Very comfortable.

We live at NW Highway & Jupiter, so I'll look around there. And good tip about the community colleges! I'll check there, too!
