I am still trying to figure which poster(s) people keep tryign to point as as trying to, "post a rosey picture without mentioning the weather which definitely affects your lifestyle for months a year." All of us who love it here acknowledge the obvious - it's really freakin' hot 3 months out of the year.
We simply have found a way to deal with it and not let it affect us to the point of being miserable. Why is this so hard for some to grasp? As I have pointed out multiple times, it's ok if folks can't deal with the heat. I personally can't deal with the cold. But that doesn't make a place a hellhole or the other ridiculous things that the Glassbox/Far North Dallas trolls claim.
Anywhoo...

Dallas people must be hardy folk. When it gets to be in the 90's and 100 in other cities on the east coast or midwest for example, you hear all the stories about heat deaths and the news is crammed with how hot it it. In Dallas, you never hear the complaining. They do deal with better than most as do people in Arizona.

People die from the heat too in Dallas. There have been several deaths already in the past few weeks. Yesterday I heard on the news that a guy in his 70s was found in his house in Fort Worth and had succumbed from the heat. The temperature in his home was 112 degrees.
Last night, Dallas topped the heat in Death Valley and New Delhi both, so it isn't pleasant here as most of us will attest to that. Today is supposed to be even hotter than yesterday. For me, I'm totally sick of it and can't wait for 50 degrees but unfortunately, I have a long wait.

I totally agree. Give me the heat (with low humidity) anyday. I personally don't mind it...if I'm in the shade.

It does make the news and unfortuntely we do have heat related deaths. The difference here between us and east coast/midwest, I thik anyways, is we are expecting it and most folks know how to adjust (drink plenty of water, watch for signs of heat related distress, etc.)

I don't indulge in beverages as listed above, but cold drinks do nothing for me anyway. Maybe if I started drinking alcohol, I'd become oblivious to the heat. Now that might work.

Which is worse - being too hot or too cold? What temperature is hell?

What I found interesting is that my niece is visting from Maryland and she keeps telling us that it really doesn't feel bad out. For me when it hits 105, it starts to feel like it's time to stay inside. But she thought it felt great outside...

Today's temperature of 107 beat the record from 1998 of 105 degrees, but the last time DFW had such a temperature of 107 was on July 18, 2006.
107 is not unusual in North Texas. Since records have been kept, the thermometer has reached 107 or higher 42 times in the DFW area.
I find weather fascinating and very unlikeable at times.
