We just got tickets to High School Musical itonight in Fair Park from a friend of mine for myself and 5 year old daughter. So we are planning a big night out for just the two of us. I would like to take her somewhere before hand for dinner. Obviously somewhere with kid friendly cuisine (although she will eat just about anything) and not too long of a wait would be a huge plus. We are coming from Coppell/Irving so anywhere along the way would be great or somewhere once we get closer to downtown (West End, AA area?)

Thanks!

I was going to suggest The Purple Cow. There is one at Preston & Royal. Not exactly close to Fair Park though. Coming from Coppell I'd look around AAC but on a Saturday late afternoon..............

What about The Dream Cafe?
The Dream Cafe

If you wanted to take another route I'd say The American Girl Bistro over at The Galleria. Call for reservations!!!!! I believe they close around 4pm though but that would be fine and give you time to get there or walk around the mall or store for a bit.

Closest places to Fair Park are in Deep Ellum. You'll find a kid's menu at Cafe Brazil on Elm St - call them first to double check.

If that doesn't work, the All Good on Main at Walton has great food, but no kid sizes, but portions are big enough that you could split something.

Try the Alligator Cafe. My son loves it.
As mentioned Cafe Brazil in Deep Ellum is good too, good kids menu, and they always seem excited to see kids there.

Took our kids here during the State Fair >>>

Fair Park :: Fair Park - Old Mill Inn (broken link)

We thought VERY WELL of it.

Staff was very friendly to the kids.

Would highly recommend the Old Mill.

Thanks you all for the reccomendations. We ended up at the Purple Cow and my daughter loved it almost as much as HSM. Now I am dying to take the other kiddos there. Super kid friendly and now have some other good reccomendations for my crew as well. THANKS!

Great to hear. I love The Purple Cow myself as they have probably one of THE BEST club sandwiches around. It always amuses me while they are geared to kids to see so many adults dining there minus kids. LOL!!!

I'd get off a little early on Knox & Henderson and grab a bite at Chuys.
