Default Help! Need a cheap rental for 1 month in Mesquite/Forney/or Terrell

My family and I are relocating to Forney for work, but I have found out that I will not receive my first month's salary for over a month. We are looking for a cheap 1 or 2 bedroom something that is as cheap as possible yet somewhat safe since we have kids. Maybe there is a small efficiency apartment with no deposit or utilities paid. We also have 2 dogs.

Any ideas on how to live cheap for a month in that area? Forney, Terrell, Mesquite, Balch Springs would all be okay, but would prefer Forney or Terrell.

I would go with a long stay hotel for a month. I can't see why anyone would rent a place for a month. The kids may be cramped but it's only for a month.

don't think you can find an apt that is as safe as you would like that will do a lease for just a month--

You most likely won't find anything in any reputable apartment complex for just 1 month. It's hard enough finding a place that will let you rent for 6 months, much less 1 month. I agree with another post that you might try the hotel route, but the dogs might be an issue. Do you know anyone that lives in DFW that you can stay with? Even if you are a 30-45 minute drive from work, you would be better off doing that for a month than renting. Heck, most people in DFW drive 30+ minutes to get to work anyway. You might also want to check with your employer. Tell them your situation and they might be able to help you out.

Good luck

I saw a place online called "In Town Suites", you might look them up online, they had kitchenette rooms for $199 weekly with no lease. You might look them up. Good Luck!

InnTown Suites are long-stay hotels
some of them are in areas that are not too nice--lots of transient customers
would be careful with children

That's been my worry with the motels. It looks like we are looking at the extended stay type of motel. Basically, I'm looking for the cheapest one close to Mesquite that seems the safest. Please keep the helpful advice coming. We move in a week.

Whats your budget? Most of the nice extended stay places are not near Mesquite.

Contact Crossland Economy Studios in Mesquite at 972-270-3630. They are an extended stay hotel and sounds like might be just what you need. It is also possible to find apartments out there that will offer 1st month's rent free but may require a small deposit. Do you have any cash to get into a place up front?
