Default Frisco

Both me and my gf will be moving to Frisco next year. I'll be graduating with Bachelors in History & her with a Bachelors in Communication. What kind of salaries can we expect if we both get hired in the Frisco ISD?

If you are looking to get Alternative Certification in history in Texas, I would highly recommend that you take the Social Studies Composite exam rather than the History exam. Also, be prepared to struggle to get a job in Frisco as an alt cert candidate. It is possible but you will be in their third tier of candidates behind experienced certified teachers and kids coming out of college that majored in education.

Frisco, Plano, Allen, Mckinney or "McPlasco" are normally not that friendly to alt cert simply because they do not have to be. A lot of people are banging on their doors to work in those districts. Math, Science, and Special Ed might be a bit of an exception in those districts though.

If you have a good connection then everything I said is a wash. Good Luck.

True, unfortunately, despite the fact that study after study show it is better to be taught English by an English major, history by a historian, etc. Don't people ever notice that we don't have people with a Phd in education teaching college English?

Ah well common sense and the education system mix so rarely.
