Do visit McKinney! Stonebridge Ranch is a wonderful "one of kind" masterplan. There are 2 nice subdivisions with new homes by Highland & David Weekley called Cascades (3775-475K) & Aspendale (250-400) in your price ranges. These builders are in the top 5 JDPowers reports and hold excellent re-sale values. This is the city of McKinney, yet in the Frisco ISD. A new Elementary & new Middle School is opening this Fall. So all kids & parents will be on an even playing field and can begin strong new friend & PTA groups. Excellent location-just 20 minutes to Legacy Headquarters, Frisco Sports activites & mall, Shops of Legacy in Plano & Allen outlet malls & new shopping. **Easy commute to Int 75 for downtown, Dallas Tollway & 121 to 35 or airport.

Lynn, just wondering if you are related to Alice Slaney Davis? She was known as "Alice from Dallas" back in the 1980s RE boom.

I still have my broker's license but I haven't actively sold since the mid-80s. Alice was always one of my favorites. We were both at Merrill Lynch (after Paula Stringer) back then. I was promoted to assistant manager, then active manager of the Lakewood office back in those days - so I got to see her at the management meetings. I remember her famous notes she sent out..

Glad to know she is still going strong!

I would look at Parker Road/Midway axis. There are major firms in all directions and the price range is close to what you want with new and older homes. Get an apartment in that area and then you will have time to cruise around and look at homes.

As for jobs - Las Colinas/Richardson/Legacy are all doable from that location.

A new home will be a better better in the long run due to fewer repairs. I will never buy an older home again.

Welcome to the area!!

Default plano, allen, or frisco

Rice Middle School is an Exemplary Middle School in Plano which feeds into Recognized Jasper High School and Recognized Plano Senior High. It's an excellent school with great teachers and an active PTA.

One of the neighborhoods that follow this pattern is the Estates of Russell Creek (Highland Ridge). Fantastic beautiful neighborhood with mature trees, 2 community pools, tennis courts, playground, and basketball court. It's also next Russell Creek park with a lake, soccer, and baseball fields.

Plano is close to everything. New is not necessarily better. An established neighborhood is wonderful!
Hope this helps!

Biggest downside to such a large proportion of Asian students is that it's just that much harder for the other students to improve their class rank.

(joking - everybody relax)

Quick geography review. The nation of India is on the continent of Asia, along with a great many other nations.

The term 'Asian' when referring to only people from the eastern Asian countries is dismissive of a huge section of the world's population and in general incorrect.

To the OP

Agree with most of the previous posts. Plano/Allen/Frisco are probably all good choices for you. I've lived in southwest Allen for about 9 years and would not go back and change a thing during those years. Also, the neighborhood we live in is PISD and as previously mentioned, I've also heard that there will be a new school in east Plano so there will be redistricting in the near future.
