Default Area north of Skillman and NW Highway

There seem to be alot of townhouse communities north of Skillman and NW Highway near the upper greenville area in Dallas. Does anyone know how safe this area is and is it a good place to rent a townhome?

Do you know the name of the neighborhood or subdivision? There are some definite places to avoid in that area.

Vickery Meadow. Stay away, unless you plan to lead an urban renewal.

Yikes --- near by that area, do you know of any good townhome communities, but that's nicer and safer? Location wise, we're looking for a < 30 drive to Garland and close to 75N. We liked the fact that it was close to shopping and central market, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I just seen it near Skillman and Abrams, thats all I need to know. I would not live in that area, it has not been nice in years. It can be a high crime area, and has the highest population density in Dallas.

There is another Central Market In Plano. Have you looked in Plano, Richardson, or Garland? All three cities have plenty to do.

From what I just googled, this is not an area I would consider safe.

What price range are you looking for?

I don't know if there are any townhomes south of Northwest Highway in that same area, but if they are, that would be a much better bet. The other posters may have some good suggestions.

Good luck to you in your search!

We were also looking at this area because my husband is a cyclist and it close to the bike path. Plano/Richardson/Garland don't have that, is that correct?
