I just watched this thing on the news; I cant believe people are opposing selling alcohol at 6 flags.

I mean; I been to Busch Gardens in Tampa which is a huge kids/family park also and Busch Gardens is sponsored by Busch-beer company...Its practically known for that and even has its own beer tasting arena. And 20's; 30's 40's people also go to drink. Why not?

Come on, are Texans that conservative? Gees...

Arlington is that conservative. They don't even want public transit because the upper crust doesn't want to bring in the dregs.

Default Re:

I'm not sure "Arlington" and "upper crust" should appear in the same sentence.

I also think 6 Flags should serve alcohol. God knows any adult stuck going there deserves a few cold ones.

I was being facetious, trying to point out the irony that is Arlington i.e. a group of people trying to hold on to their perfect little Utopia, not yet realizing it long ago outgrew it's days as small safe and quaint suburbia.

So it's Arlington that doesn't allow alcohol to be served, or 6 Flags? I haven't been to a 6 Flags in years and that was in St Louis and I don't recall 6 Flags not serving alcohol.

alcohol is served in restaurants/bars in Arlington but there are rules preventing selling alcohol in 6 Flags from when it first was started--
this is more conservative area--
frankly I don't know that I want someone who has 3-4 beers sitting behind ME on some of those rides...

Sure will. A 12 oz can poured into a plastic cup will only set you back a measly $15. It was going to be more around $8 but Jerry had to have his cut. Bottled water might be going for around $10 and again poured into a plastic cup.

WHY do they do this??? At Pizza Hut Park in Frisco they pour BOTTLED WATER into a plastic cup. Talk about WASTE, being "UNgreen" and LOADS of trash all over the place. URGH!!! Then not to mention the fact it can spill a lot easier and be totally wasted.

They probably don't do that because then it will keep the use of barf bags to a minimum.

Six Flags is having financial trouble - hence the need to sell booze. They have made the place so bland and generic you would need a beer or two so you can really make fun of it and not be so sad that all the old distinctive "Texas" attractions are gone.
