Default Waxahachie Info desperately needed

Hi, I just posted to this board & Ft. Worth because we are looking for a town to move to from Phoenix. We are leaving tomorrow to check things out. We love Waxahachie, but we are both Realtors and aren't sure if there's enough real estate movement there to support our family. Does anyone have any idea on this and any other suggestions for a city like Waxahachie that might have a strong real estate market?

If you're looking for an area where you will be very successful as a realtor, then I would go with something in Plano or Frisco. There is a lot more activity as far as housing goes there, but don't get me wrong, Waxahachie does have real estate movement, but not as much as Plano and Frisco do. Also, Waxahachie is definitely not the best or the safest place to live. Plano and Frisco are newer areas(Frisco especially), so there is a ton of houses and there is a lot of big and expensive houses(especially in West Plano) as well. Hope this helps!

I agree with above poster....that whole area (including McKinney) are still growing and building, and a realtor who will hustle can make a good living. You need to develop a relationship with the sales people in the subdivisons...many of the homebuilders are giving great bonuses and incentives to realtors who bring clients/buyers to them.

Check out a bit north of Waxahatchie... Red Oak, DeSoto, Midlothian, Mansfield. These are a bit remote but benefit from the Dfw growth.
