Dr. Blackburn must be good or the only Doctor in town that specializes in AA skin. Everyone I know who has a skin problem sees him.

I have heard a lot about Dr. Blackburn. I payed him a visit from Fort Worth but I was unable to see him because I left my insurance card at the house and I was not willing to fight that traffic back to Dallas for another appointment that would take some months because he is usually booked well in advanced.

Dermatologists don't specialize by race.

Agreed, but some do have more experience diagnosing/treating African American folks' skin.

AA skin does require EXTRA special care as I'm sure you know, but I absolutely do not like Dr. Blackburn or his office. The clientele is rude and frankly, I don't think he is a very good doctor. Try Dr. Farhad Niroomand... he's a very good dermatologist and his office also has a very nice aesthetician who does facial peels and laser procedures at a very reasonable cost. Also, if you need a face cream (for spots, and wrinkles), then I would suggest Lucius P. Cook in Medical City. He has a fantastic cream for AA skin that is mixed by a compound pharmacy. I go to him just to get this cream. jmo
