Hello. I will be relocating to Dallas in the next few months and I am looking at places to live. I have used this posting board before with great results (looking for hockey because I am moving from Minnesota).

I will be working in Farmers Branch (where 35 w and 635W meet) and I am looking for places to live. I have done some searching online and I have found a few places. I want to stay in the northern part of Dallas due to work and hockey in Richardson and Farmers Branch. I would be willing to look other places but it would have to be a sweet deal (I really like East Dallas / Greenville area but that is too far to drive) I am looking for a 1 bedroom apartment with washer and dryer (in unit or hookup). I would also like the rent to be under $650 (if possible).

I am looking for comments on how the neighborhoods are? Close to entertainment, shops, grocery stores because I don't mind walking to shop. I tend to lean towards blue collar neighborhoods but I guess that does not really matter with apartment buildings. I am 35yrs old and single (no I don't need any dating website links ) but I am done with clubs and the party scene. I do not mind a good pint of Guiness and love a great dive bar.

I have found these places and any feedback would be nice or if you can recommend another apartment complex / townhouse. I will be in Dallas this month to look at places to live and hopefully finalize paperwork.

Places I found online:
-Kelly Crossing
2601 Frankford
Dallas, TX 75287

- Toscana Apartments
17910 Kelly Boulevard
Dallas, TX 75287

- Hutton Creek
3525 Country Square Drive
Carrollton, TX 75006

- Park on Rosemeade
4141 Rosemead Parkway
Dallas, TX 75287

- Villas of Timberglen
3637 Timberglen Road
Dallas, TX 75287

- Trinity Square
4350 Trinity Mills Road
Dallas, TX 75287

My wife use to live off Rosemeade when we were dating but thats been 10+ years ago. It was fairly nice then and I would assume it has not changed much since then. Addison offers some bars and eateries that could satisfy your entertaining needs. Lewisville could also be option since your commute would be a straight shot down I35.

You're looking in the right direction. The Dallas Stars practice in their Dr. Pepper Center in Frisco.

Now I know the folks in Minn. might not know about Dr. Pepper. We use to vacation there back when my Dad had a lake house up in Crow Wing County and my youngest son whose only addiction was D.P. The grocery stores in Mn. didn't sell it. Everything was a "pop". LOL

Welcome to the area!

Grainraiser, I will take a look at Lewisville and thanks for the info.

Korel, I know about Dr.Pepper. I stayed in Kansas for a few summers and so I know about Dr.Pepper. Actually, it is my favorite "soda". I don't say "pop".

We had Dr. Pepper when I was a kid growing up next door in Wisconsin, but Mountain Dew and Pepsi were far more prevalent. And yes, it was a "pop."

I used to live at 4343 Rosemeade back in 06-07 & liked the area a lot. Its right down the street (within walking distance) from several neighborhood bars & offers easy access to both Bush Turnpike & Dallas North Tollway. The Galleria & Addison are also a hop, skip, & a jump away if you want to shop the high end stores or dine at upscale restaurants.

The only real complaint I had was the occasional train passing by on the tracks that were behind my apartment & the constant woosh of traffic on the two tollways. It wasn't that bad though because there is a concrete wall separating it to block some of the noise. If you live on the south side of Rosemeade you shouldn't have much, if any noise pollution.

LOL!!! Hey, Dr. Pepper is not a soda or a pop......in Texas it's a 'coke'. One of the little oddities in Texas lingo.......all carbonated drinks are 'cokes.' (don't ask why....nobody seems to know why...)

LOL! In Louisiana we call it "coke" too! People that aren't from the south think its weird. Like when they ask for a Coke and you say "what kind do you want? We have Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Root Beer, Coke..."
