You can't believe what people tell you, only what they can prove.
Where is the proof that those numbers you got from God knows where have any reality?
All they did was confuse you and make you anxious. In other words, you were trolled.

No. They have had several.
1. 1 person killed. There was the murder of the real estate agent in the model home (person arrrested and charged). Random 2006
2. 4 people killed. There were the 4 people (two were high school students) that were shot and killed (they have arrested some people of interest on other charges - if they are still in jail I don't know). Burglery and Random occured in 2004
3. 1 person killed. The husband that waited in the ditch outside the medical buildings on 75 by the old hospital. Shot at his wife and her friend returning from lunch. Killed his wife. Victim known/related
4. 2 people killed. Murder/suicide. Happened at a conv. store and both were male. Victim might have known the shooter. Occured in 2007
5. 0 people killed. Murder for hire. Husband hired someone to kill his pregnant wife. The potential trigger man did not want to do it and waited in the house for her to come home and surprised her but told her about her husband plan. The wife kept saying she still loved him (WTH?!?!?!?!) About 2 years ago maybe
6. 3 people killed. I'm only mentioning this one since someone said there had only been maybe 1 murder in 50 years. This was the "1974 Hilltop Murders" where someone robbed a gas station and killed 3 people there.
There has been other trouble in the past as well. Last year there was someone attacking people while jogging/walking in the parks.
These are just a few of the most notable murders in McKinney in the last few years.

Last I remember was the realtor or sales person selling homes who's husband killed her. Were the other ones more recent? Remember I was gone for my 13 months in hell 2006-07
ETA: Doh reading the links now...I was gone.

No worries. I just remember the news making a huge deal about the realtor being killed as it was the first murder in X amount of years and I thought that was really interesting at the time.
Geez move 1 year out of the area and you have cheerleaders from hell and murder. I wonder what happened to the place I left

This looks like a string of isolated incidents, rather than situations that would be a danger to me.
The question is, are these crimes unusual for a city the size of McKinney?
If a man hires a killer to murder his wife, why does that present a danger to me? I'm not married to him.
If a man goes into a convenience store to shoot an enemy, then turns the gun on himself, that has nothing to do with me.
When the murders consist mostly of a personal dispute between two people, that does not make the city more dangerous for a third party.
Some robber kills a clerk in a convenience store somewhere in McKinney, and this means I'm seriously risking my life by being in the city limits? The chance I'd be involved is so remote, I'd be fit for commitment to a madhouse in order to take it seriously.
McKinney is not a small country village where crime consists of a good ole boy drunk on a saturday night. It is a large city with a diverse set of neighborhoods and people. In a city that large, you can expect some trouble. The question is, is it at unusual levels compared with the other McKinneys of America.

Just about all of the similiar crimes in the surrounding areas can be classified the same way. Yet people still freak out when they see "x" number of murders. That is my point. If one has a bit of common sense then in MOST cases they are going to avoid being a victim of crime. BUT, we can't go around w/ our heads in the sand thinking that ANY PLACE is perfect utopia and NEVER sees ANY crime. The same crimes happen in McKinney that happen in other cities the same size. Leave your garage door open and you might be finding a missing lawn mower, yard equipment or bikes. Happens EVEN IN McKinney. No city is immune. Hang w/ the wrong bunch and your liable to get in trouble.
Now, the 4 murders that occured - the victims did NOT know the suspects. The two high school boys gave the other guy a ride home. They walked into the house while the homeowner was getting robbed and they killed all 4 of them. The homeowner did not know the suspects either. Just a random killing.
The one at the hospital - the womans friend was seriously injured. She went to lunch w/ her friend and while walking in the parking lot together they both got ambushed. The wife had no clue her husband wanted her dead so the other woman did not know her coworker had a husband that was a hot head or wanted her rid of.

I agree with Mom. Most people (not all obviously) supposedly know their assailant when it comes to crimes like murder.
