how much does an over speeding ticket cost in Dallas?
Greetings all,
Actually, I just moved to Dallas and I don't know the traffic violations charges yet. Today, I was going 50Mph on a 35Mph road in Dallas (non-school area)..... how much would that cost?

I would also make sure you get your Texas drivers license and apply for traffic school. We tried when we were visiting last summer. Hubby wasn't watching his speed and was doing about the same as you were and he wasn't eligible because he had an out of state license and not eligible for traffic school.

Depends on what city it was in. You can call and find out, the number should be on the ticket. You can also ask about deferred adjudication. If you have a clean record you can pay a fine and then if you don't get another violation in a certain time period it will not go on your record. Every city/county is different with this. I had one friend that just had to go to the city and pay the fee and was given a 6 month period to keep from getting a ticket. Another friend was told she had to take a defensive driving course and could not get a violation for something like 1-2 years (I can't remember exactly the time period she was given, sorry). Just call and ask.

Thank you for the valuable information
Thank you all for the valuable information....
I had to pay $215 as cdelena said..... but I was told that the violation is going to go to my driving record!...I am in Dallas and the citation was in Dallas as well..... I never knew that it can be removed from my record if it stays clean for 6 months in some cities.... Does anyone know if that is the case in Dallas?!
Cheers

Yes, it is also the case in Dallas. Did you ask for deferred adjudication or about taking defensive driving?
