That is the funnest thing to do in Dallas, spend your time in your car.

Great shopping is in Austin as well. And how much can you shop? Won't you ever need to save some money for your futue. Wonder why there are so many 30K Millionaires in this town of Dallas. All they talk about is shopping.

Concerts and events and nightclubs.
Well I guess artsyguy you have never been to Austin.
They have it all, and in closer distances.
Plus they have more art scene in Austin than Dallas.
Heck even the oil town Houston has tons more art scene than Dallas.

The DFW area has a dozen interesting art museums, tons of galleries, much public art in downtrown Dallas, etc.

Austin? You're lucky to have one or two decent art museums to go to.

Not true

Dallas does have hills in Southwestern Dallas County which resemble the Texas Hill Country areas west of Austin. The only hilly parts of Austin are west of I-35. If you're on the east side its basically just flat like most of Dallas with a few rolling hills here & there.

So that is the best you can do (where is that LOL smile)

Bring your own sources and let's see what we got here.

Those two links as sources are extremely valid, you would have know better if you actually looked at them and found out what they are. One of the links is an official organization website, the other is a product of Dallas Morning News, and we have a guy who can not bring any data to the table other than calling "your source is so completely wrong". I need a laugh out loud so hard icon for this, the one that the person is rolling all ower the floor

Dallas seems like a better fit in all honesty...not by much though
Austin is more more young aged ...when I mean young...I mean 20s...
but yeah... Dallas is pretty liberal, it is said to be 3rd most liberal city in Texas only behind AUSTIN and El Paso.
You'll have to visit, for what you're looking for...these cities are relatively similar.
