Default relocating for new job in Dallsa,TX

My Wife & I are considering relocation for a new job at DFW airport. We currently live in Evans,GA.We have 4 kids; 12,9,8&2(2 boys,2 girls) and are looking for a good school district in the suburbs outside of Dallas. We owe very little on our current home and it should sell for about 250-275K but we are looking to spend no more than 225K on a new home.No more living in debt.Schools and community athletic programs,dance/gymnastics for the girls, baseball, soccer, football for the boys are something we're looking for.Not like the GA sport parent nuts though, just for fun.No false hopes here, they'll be looking to go to good colleges so schools are first priority.
We've read nice things about Wylie,Rockwall,Rowlett and are looking for other suggestions. We do not really care for the Augusta,GA area at all after relocating here on a job transfer 3 years ago.i'd never recommend Augusta,GA to anyone. It's an absolute mess here.

You should find plenty of homes in your price range in all three cities, but esp. in Wylie and Rowlett. Don't believe everything you hear in this forum; some people like to come off as an expert on every single suburb, and believe me, they're not. I've lived in Rowlett for the last 10 years in the Garland/Rowlett area nearly all of my life. I've been a r.e. appraiser for 26 years and can't believe some of the nonsense written by opinionated people on this forum. Check the areas out for yourself and visit here if you can, do a little research, and enjoy the process. Good luck with your relocation - you'll like this part of the "Metroplex".

I really think people should stop posting their opinions like what they think is the be all, end all. Wylie is not very racist as stated by the last poster. EVERY city has it's share of ignorant people - you will find that no matter where you go. I am offended that someone would post that Wylie is racist WHEN I LIVE THERE AND AM NOT RACIST.

I am white and have a biracial son. We have lived here for 3 years and both my son and I love it. Our neighborhood, across the street from Wylie High, is VERY diverse. We moved from Lavon where he attended school in Community ISD and there were no other biracial or black children in his classes. He started running track in Wylie a year before we moved there and I have never seen so many biracial kids in one area. My son was very excited about the fact that there were so many other kids that "looked like him". We have never had any issue with anyone saying or doing anything to us. Yes, there have been isolated incidents in our city, unfortunately, but that is not something that you see very often here.

So, as far as diversity, I think Wylie is a great city to move to and I speak to you based on my actual experience here.

wylieres, im sorry if i offended you personally BUT I am entitled to my opinion and I usually do not say anything negative unless I have a reason and I have good reason!

#1 I have lived in Wylie Texas and I am speaking of what I know also

#2 My sister is Italian and she is in a interracial relationship

#3 I never called you a racist? But I know for a fact that there are some people, actually quite of few people inless they moved that are RACIST in good ol Wylie Texas! How do I know came straight of the mouth of them and I made sure that I told them I didnt want too hear it!

#4 Is everybody in Wylie Racist, of course not!

#5 Why did I post that comment? My niece who is biracial was beat up in Wylie Texas and called everything under the sun! Brand New Jaguar S=Type also scratched up with some bad words

#6 My coworker also had her house spray painted with some pretty ugly words in Wylie, Texas

#7 Oh, come on you said it yourself there are a few isolated incidents in Wylie, yes quite a few
and this happens almost everywhere, not just good ol Wylie Texas

#8 At least Wylie is as bad as Sachse!

#9 It is a free country

#10 Everyone is entitled to an opinion, * yes everyone! its just a posting site for heavens sake!

Your original post is quite inaccurate, as is the above. I doubt you have ever set foot in Wylie.

well your doubt is incorrect and how are you going to tell me that it is inaccurate when I saw it with my own eyes, had to drive back to Wylie too see my niece in the hospital, how dare you!

I didnt get on city-data.com and say o' well I guess I will just sit and talk about Wylie, Texas today

I lived in Wylie! There are good people in Wylie, you may be one of those people! But you nor I can sit here and speak for all of Wylie, Texas and the people who live in Wylie!

so my first post may have been anger from something that happen, well yeah it was, but I have reason!

Besides people are going to move where ever they want too and it does not matter what I say, what you say or what people recommend!

BUT** and I am saying this with some anger

I am not going pretend that nothing happened, not going to do it!

like I said #4 Is everybody in Wylie Racist? of course not! and I will not say it again or respond to anymore of this mess that you or whoever would like to dispute!

I am not on here to argue with you people! my goodness join a debate club or go fuss with your spouse, people do not like the truth! sorry if I hurt any feelings! geeze!

I am done with this old post about Wylie, Texas!
