I did find a site that had demographic estimates as of 2007 -Moderator cut: linking to competitors sites is not allowed I am unsure of how accurate the data is, but it does seem to correspond with recent area trends. I can say that the figures for the southern suburbs of Dallas, where I live, do appear to be rather accurate.

The 2007 statistics exclude the categories of "Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander" and "Two or more races", making for a higher percentage of "Others". Keep in mind that a decline in a group's overall percentage doesn't always mean the number of residents belonging to that group is also in decline, especially in faster-growing communities.

Since the table is so long, I split it into to two separate posts. I hope you find this information helpful.

One oddity I have found in these posts is the number of times a low percentage of minorities in a community is directly related to discrimination. I live in a city with a high percentage of whites compared to other suburbs (McKinney), but we have AA neighbors all around, AA children are in all of the schools, those I know are integral parts of the community fabric as a whole, at least from my perspective. To say an area that has a higher percentage of whites to minorities automatically is discriminatory is unfounded.

I totally agree with you. I have a cousin who lives in Frisco and she is AA. Although her neighborhood is mostly white she always have neighbors and their kids by when I visit. Even the stats I see listed seem strange to me. There are not many communities I can go to and feel totally out of place.

Maybe not "totally" out of place!! Maybe some of the very SMALL 6% AA just happen to be friends with your cousin. It's a known fact that.......Usually one who looks, act and/or speak alike tend to bond easier and closer than those who don't. If these percentages are true some of them are pretty pathetic!!!

This would be a good sign to be placed in public places so others could see, all over Texas! I do have some family in Dallas but we're not willing to deal with so much traffic and city life. I am impressed with the diversity there over the burbs!!

Thanks again.....helps alot!! Looks like we have a few that can't believe the numbers. I'm a little shock as well, I did think that more of these communities would have a larger percentage of diversity. Seem like all but three or four communties listed has a fair amount of diversity!! Never know..... these numbers may, one day, be almost equal in each category of race/ethnicity. Would be nice!!
